1910 − Jabatan Ukur dan Pemetaan Kedah set up a year after Perjanjian Bangkok signed in year 1909 where Siamese (Thailand) hand over Kedah state and Perlis to British.
In his early stage accommodated at two shop fruit rented out in Bandar Alor Setar. Currently divided into two administrative district namely Kedah North in Alor Setar and Kedah Selatan in Kulim.
1913 − JUPEM KEDAH moves out from Alor Setar to Kulim. Are Located In Director Residence Survey In Jalan Bukit Awi.
1914 − JUPEM KEDAH moves out to shop building in Jalan Raya Kulim in April 1914.
1918 − Measurement in Perlis begun under Pengarah Ukur Kedah administration. Kedah surveyor North assigned carry out measuring work of Perlis state.
1947 − Pejabat Ukur Daerah Kedah Selatan , Kulim closed down as job shortage and join together with Pejabat Ukur Daerah Kedah Tengah, Sungai Petani.
1956 − Pejabat Ukur Daerah Perlis established with officially. Accommodated at Jalan Hospital Kangar under Juruukur Daerah Perlis's management.
1964 − Pejabat Ukur Daerah Perlis, Kangar moved to floor 3 Bangunan Federal Government in 15 August 1964 after building in Jalan Hospital taken over by Pejabat Rancangan Penyeliaan Tanah Perlis.
1968 − JUPEM KEDAH moves out to own building occupied now in 15 June 1968 after 54 years accommodated at shop building. JUPEM KEDAH's officiating of building / Perlis in 18 November 1968 by YB Land and Mineral Minister, Hj. Abdul Rahman bin Yaacob.
Pejabat Ukur Daerah Kedah Utara, Alor Setar moves out from Jalan Kolam Ayer to Bangunan Ukur, PKNK in 8 July 1968.
1971 − Pejabat Ukur Daerah Kedah Tengah/ Selatan, Sungai Petani moved to floor 4, Bangunan Persekutuan, Sungai Petani in 26 June 1971.
1978 − Pejabat Ukur Daerah Kedah Utara , Alor Setar moves out to floor 4, Bangunan Persekutuan, Alor Setar in 26 July 1978.
1983 − Pejabat Ukur Daerah Kedah Selatan , separated from Pejabat Ukur Daerah Kedah Tengah / Selatan, Sungai Petani and accommodated at Bangunan JUPEM's ground floor in 2 May 1983.
1995 − JUPEM Perlis created separately from JUPEM Kedah / Perlis in 1 November 1995.

Modernized Department
Computerization programs at JUPEM has transformed it into one of government’s most up-to-date and modern departments in the State. With the successful implementation of Sistem Pengurusan Data Kadaster (SPDK), together with the deployment of GPS and Total Stations in outstation jobs, this department has advanced to a centre of excellence in the line survey and mapping industry.
